John D. Daniel
As men, we most often characterize ourselves by what we do--our professions. Below I have reprioritized the things that make me who I am.
Christian
God gave me life and then offered me eternal life through Jesus. Without the first, I would not exist. Without the second, my existence would have no meaning.
Husband
"Out of all the gifts You've given
Besides the very gift of life
There's none as precious to me
As the treasure of my wife."
--Steven Curtis Chapman
I don't know of anyone else who has been blessed in marriage as I have been. God made Robin and I to be together, and I am so very glad that we are. I am humbled by her love for me.
Father
"Sons are a heritage from the Lord,
Children are a reward from Him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
Are sons born in one's youth.
Blessed is the man who's quiver is full of them."
Psalm 127:3-5
My children are truly a blessing. I love them all immeasurably.
Son, Grandson, & Brother
I was blessed to be born into a loving, close-knit family. My parents were not wealthy, but my siblings and I never went hungry nor wanted for anything. Camping with Grandaddy and Grandma was an absolute thrill when I was young. Grandaddy, you are my hero. Growing up with my brother and sister helped to knock some of the rough edges off, making me who I am today. Thanks for your love. I love you all!
Nuclear Pharmacist
Finally, the answer to the question, "What do you do?" I am a nuclear pharmacist, which means that I compound and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy. I have been employed by NuTech, Inc. in Tyler, Texas since 1999.
Hobbies
Everybody needs a hobby, or so the saying goes. Most of the
men I know have a lot of hobbies: sports, hunting, fishing, golf,
computer games, and the list goes on and on and on. Many times
these hobbies serve to separate husbands from wives and fathers from
children. How can a man be the head of his household if he is
never present? Therefore, I have resolved to minimize those
activities that keep me away from those most dear to me.
The hobbies that I enjoy most, when I can find the time, are reading
and cycling.
